For those living or visiting Washington, DC there are endless things to keep them busy. Whether it's heading to some of the county's most historic places or gearing up for the mother of all shopping sprees, Washington attractions can give you everything you're looking for. Of course everyone wants to head to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to try and catch of glimpse of Obama and to the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial to stand where millions of others have at some of the birthplaces of America, but there are hundreds more interesting places to go that could keep a resident of DC busy for a lifetime. And most don't require cashing in those alpha ETFs to make the trip worth it.

The Smithsonian Institute is one of the most educational and fascinating facilities in the entire country. Complete with no less than seven fully supplied museums, ranging in topics from natural and American history through to American art and up to Air and Space, there is something suiting the taste of any member of your travel party. Some have even chosen to nix that wedding rental Oakville for something more resembling the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. There are also several branches of the Smithsonian throughout the city in other locations, including the Renwick Gallery and the National Zoo.

Other museums and galleries of interest include the National Gallery of Art, which is wholly owned by the United States Government and is located near the Capital Building on the National Mall. The International Spy Museum and National Geographic Society Museum are also within the city. For locations, you can check out their websites or tap their names into your TREO leather pouches for a map of the city center.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (usually referred to as simply the Kennedy Center) is one of the country's leading performance houses and is home to the Washington National Opera, the Washington Ballet and the National Symphony Orchestra. It is not uncommon for the First Family to attend concerts and events held at the Kennedy Center and the First Lady sits on one of their boards. While other organizations give out government grants to the best home based business to help them survive, the Kennedy Center has its Honors awards, which are presented each year to deserving arts and culture organizations across the country.

For those looking for a less cultural Washington experience, Historic Union Station is a perfect place to unwind and spend the day shopping and to experience some great food. Georgetown is where all of the serious shoppers are headed. There are over one thousand stores in the district and it is usually the site of the latest store openings and most modern fashions. Penn Quarter is another place where you can exchange money for gold jewelry or enjoy a nice dinner, whatever you're in the mood for.

Washington is also home to five professional sports teams for those interested in that vein of entertainment. These include an NHL, MLB, NBA, MLS and NFL team, everything you could ask for as a sports fan.

Entertainment is not hard to find in Washington for those here to live or visit. While the city may seem like a serious government driven location, there is much to do and see on a daily basis to interest all tastes.
